name :: Raziel (for Stitched show @ Clutter Gallery)

completed :: April 2013

size :: ~14" tall, 22" wingspan

materials :: anti-pill fleece, faux fur, wool felt, suede, pleather, Minky, safety eyes, glass beads, rhinestones, batik cotton, organza, netting, sequins, embroidery floss, acrylic gems, cellophane, LED lights, tinsel, magnets

notes :: Raziel is the very first "Celestial Tier" Sprite, having only had time lately to make smaller, simpler plush in what I consider the "Sprite family". With six wings, he's technically a Seraph. The belly is reverse appliqued with another layer of applique on top; LED lights in the stomach for a "constellation" effect, with an external battery pack disguised in his belt. The wings are removable and attach invisibly with magnets; arms are jointed and wired. The eyes are a custom-mixed paint that took three tries to get right, with stars embedded in them. His lightweight crown is removable as well, and has Swarovski crystals embedded in it, as well as a handmade central "opal". Probably the only plush I've made to rival the Enchiridion for hours spent, and including design hours he took much longer (the wings alone took two days).
